Mandarin Essential Oil Benefits

There are several varieties of Orange Essential Oils. At Simply Earth, we carry Sweet Orange, Blood Orange, Tangerine, and Mandarin.

Each of these orange oils have amazing chemical compositions and properties. Since all of these oils have such great uses, it can be tough to pick just one!

The main difference between these essential oils is their aroma. Blood Orange Essential Oil is tangy, fruity, and sweet. Sweet Orange is the oil people most often refer to when they say “Orange Essential Oil” and has the most traditional orange scent. Tangerine’s aroma is soft and sweet, while Mandarin Essential Oil has the most exotic aroma among the orange oils. It is sweet, green, and citrusy with a note of evergreen. We will look at Mandarin Essential Oil benefits, its uses, its recipes, how this oil works, safety reminders when using this oil, and more!

Relaxes, Calms, and Uplifts

Mandarin Essential Oil has a relaxing aroma. Its uplifting citrus scent can help soothe anxiety and depression1 in both children and adults, thanks to the anxiolytic properties that are prevalent in citrus fruits. It even has sedative qualities to help ease you into sleep at night or calm children before bedtime.

Cleans Naturally

One of my favorite Mandarin Essential Oil uses is in cleaning. Studies have found it to have antibacterial properties2, so it is a great airborne deodorizer and purifier. With its uplifting aroma, it’s a great oil to add to an air freshening room spray or diffuser!

Soothes

Certain compounds found in Mandarin Essential Oil are similar to a type of molecule that is capable of blocking pain and may be used as an analgesic in human therapy against pain3.

These uses were found in studies and are anecdotal information. These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Promotes Healthier Skin

Similar to a lot of citrus oils, Mandarin can also promote healthier skin. It improves blood circulation which in turn makes the skin look vibrant, young, and rejuvenated. It maintains moisture while helping diminish pigmentation, which means you can use Mandarin oil for stretch marks and scars to reduce their appearance. Mandarin Essential Oil is also helpful in treating oily skin and acne.

Stimulates Immune System

When I have a cold, I wake up groggy and congested. Mandarin Essential Oil can help wake you up, stimulate your immune system, and ease congestion.

What Mandarin Essential Oil Blends Well With

Mandarin Essential Oil is produced from cold pressing the fruit peel. It has a thin consistency and a yellow-orange to dark orange color. It has an intense, fresh citrus scent that blends well with Cypress, Frankincense, Geranium, Ginger, Lavender, Lemon, Lime, Neroli, Nutmeg, Orange, Peppermint, and Ylang-Ylang Essential Oils.

What’s the Science Behind Mandarin Oil?

Mandarin Essential Oil is largely made up of Limonene (70%) and γ-Terpinene (20%). These natural chemicals have specific purposes.

Limonene

This chemical constituent activates white blood cells, relieves pain, stimulates circulation, prevents ulcers, reduces anxiety, protects the liver, enhances skin penetration, and has immunostimulant, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and vasorelaxant properties.

These uses were found in studies and are anecdotal information. These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

γ-Terpinene

This is a compound that is known to block pain stimulants and kill head lice, and it also has antioxidant, antispasmodic, and antiviral characteristics.

These uses were found in studies and are anecdotal information. These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

What Earthies Are Saying About Mandarin Oil

Simply Earth fans (Earthies) love using this Mandarin Essential Oil. Check out how they are using it.

The Valley Of Oranges

Simply Earth sources its Mandarin Essential Oil from Etna Valley, also known as the Valley of Oranges, which is a true haven for nature lovers and citrus enthusiasts. It’s home to a flourishing farm that’s equally passionate about respecting nature and preserving its bountiful resources. Farmers at Etna Valley operate without pesticides and all the fruits are handpicked by local workers. The farm makes sure that no part of the fruit goes to waste, with all sections being utilized and sold. The most exciting part, however, is their new project—making leather or “ecoleather” from the mandarin fruit. As for gifts, the farm is known to put together gadgets for their customers to use—yes, you guessed it—also from the mandarin fruit!

Simply Earth & Citrusmade Srl

When it comes to essential oils, quality sourcing is key. Luckily, Simply Earth knows this firsthand and has partnered with Citrusmade, the largest producer of citrus fruits in Sicily, to bring you their top-notch Mandarin Essential Oil.

Citrusmade has been producing this oil using sustainable practices for over three decades, ensuring that their methods are environmentally friendly and socially responsible. From the time that the mandarin tree is planted until the moment that its fruit is handpicked, great care is taken to ensure that the end product is of the highest quality. It takes up to three years for a mandarin tree to start bearing fruit, but once it does, each fruit is carefully plucked by hand. From there, the fruit peel’s oil is extracted using cold processing while ensuring that no harmful chemicals or additives are present.

Choosing Simply Earth means choosing a company that cares about the environment, the quality of its products, and the people who produce them.
