What I Love About This Lip Balm Recipe

There’s so much to love about this recipe that it’s hard to name just one thing. Aside from its sweet, invigorating aroma, I love how this recipe helps my lips recover from the harsh winter that makes my lips dry and chapped. All of the ingredients in this recipe are very soothing and moisturizing, while not being too greasy or heavy to wear on the lips.

What’s in This Candy Cane Lip Balm Recipe?

Beeswax

We used 100% Certified Organic Beeswax for this recipe. The beeswax help to make the recipe more firm so it doesn’t melt too quickly upon application. Also, as a natural emulsifier, beeswax helps retain moisture on the lips which makes it perfect either through the cold winds of winter.

Solid Coconut Oil

Like Beeswax, Solid Coconut Oil is solid at room temperature which helps this lip balm recipe retain its shape. Everyone knows coconut oil is just amazing for anything! Surely, it will soften and nourish your dry lips.

Almond Oil

Almond Oil is a really great ingredient to use in a lip balm. It is a lightweight oil which means it’s not too oily or heavy on the lips, while still being very highly moisturizing. It will help make your lips smooth and supple any time of the year!

Candy Cane Essential Oil Blend

We of course added our famous Candy Cane Essential Oil Blend in this lip balm recipe. It has the perfect Christmas Caney Cane aroma.

Lime Essential Oil

To make this sweet recipe even sweeter, we added Lime Essential Oil. Lime also has a sweet, candy-like aroma, so combining this oil with the Candy Cane Blend gives off a light, uplifting effect to anyone using the lip balm. It will smell so good you’ll want to eat it.

Please note that Lime is a phototoxic oil. This means it can cause skin to be extremely sensitive sunlight. In the amounts used in this recipe, Lime Essential Oil is unlikely to have phototoxic effects. However, use caution before using this recipe and spending time in direct sunlight.

Lip Balm Tubes

Simply Earth lip balm tubes guarantee easy storage and application for all lip balm recipes.

Things to Remember When Using This Lip Balm

Always dilute an essential oil when using it on the skin. This essential oil recipe is unlikely to cause skin irritation when diluted properly. If the oil has been oxidized (left with the cap off for long periods of time) it is more likely to cause skin irritation. Check out this dilution chart for diluting this essential oil properly.

If you are pregnant, consult your doctor prior to use.
