What I Love About This Detox Bath Recipe

I love that this recipe is super easy to prepare. With just a few mixing ingredients that are safe and all-natural, I get myself some fancy bath salts that I can use for a relaxing bath after a long day or give as a gift to someone I love.

What’s in This Winter Joy Bath Salts Recipe

Epsom Salt

Epsom Salt is a famous all-natural remedy for many ailments. Most of these benefits are attributed to the magnesium or sulfates that are found in epsom salt. Some people have found that epsom salt helped them with sleep and stress management, constipation treatment, pain and swelling reduction, and more.1

Almond Oil

Almond Oil serves as the carrier oil for this recipe. It dilutes the essential oils to make it safe to use on the skin. Essential oils are very concentrated and should not be used in its pure state for topical application.

Lime Essential Oil

Lime Essential Oil provides a unique aromatic experience. It gives off a sweet citrusy scent that restores energy and provides calmness. The Lime Essential Oil gives this bath recipe relaxing and uplifting benefits.

Please note that Lime is a phototoxic oil. This means it can cause skin to be extremely sensitive sunlight. In the amounts used in this recipe, Lime Essential Oil is unlikely to have phototoxic effects. However, use caution before using this recipe and spending time in direct sunlight.

Winter Spice Essential Oil Blend

To infuse a seasonal aroma to this detox bath recipe, we added Winter Spice Essential Oil Blend. The oils in this blend help refresh the mind and clear congestion.

Lavender Buds

Dried Lavender Buds work just like its essential oil counterpart. Like Lavender Essential Oil, lavender buds have relaxing benefits. Plus, it makes a luxurious, spa-like bath experience possible in the comfort of your home.

Things to Remember When Using This Recipe

Always dilute an essential oil when using it on the skin. This essential oil recipe is unlikely to cause skin irritation when diluted properly. If the oil has been oxidized (left with the cap off for long periods of time) it is more likely to cause skin irritation. Check out this dilution chart for diluting this essential oil properly.

If you are pregnant, consult your doctor prior to use.

This essential oil recipe is safe to use with kids aged 10+.
