In the past five years or so, Crossfit has been one of the most popular workouts around the world. What was first developed for those in the military and police force has now become a favorite among the fitness crowd. Crossfit training was developed by Greg Glassman. He designed this workout to improve health and fitness. All the movements in a WOD (workout of the day) are made to develop functionality and each workout is performed in high intensity.
To get the best results from your workout, you’ll need a little help. No, I’m not talking about whey protein or any other supplements. I’m talking about the all natural way you can finish each workout strong and even get better after each one. Here are some essential oils to make your crossfit WOD better.
Here Are The Best Essential Oils for Crossfit
Peppermint Essential Oil
Peppermint Essential Oil is known for helping relieve stuffy noses, but it can also help improve focus. During workouts, being focused is important to get better and see long term progress. The more you pay attention to the small details, the closer you get to your goals. Peppermint Essential Oil helps you stay on track.
Aside from using Peppermint Essential Oil to help you focus in your WOD, it can also help soothe sore muscles from yesterday’s workouts. Rub 2-3 drops of the oil diluted in at least two tablespoons of carrier oil to wherever you feel sore. The quick relief will help you cross the finish line of your workout.
Energy Boost Essential Oil Blend
Every workout requires you to have a lot of energy. Though sometimes, you might need a little help with it. Simply Earth’s Energy Boost does just that. Made with lemon, eucalyptus, and peppermint essential oils, it helps uplift the mood and energize you. You’ll be more alert and feel stronger even after doing 100 squats!
You can use this wonderful essential oil blend before, during, and after your workout. Mix 5-6 drops of Energy boost in a 10ml bottle of carrier oil (fractionated coconut oil and almond oil are great options!) and apply to the insides of your wrists, and the back of your neck. You may also diffuse 10-15 drops in your diffuser for a quick pre-workout boost!
Bay (Laurel Leaf) Essential Oil
In Crossfit workouts, getting rope burns and sore muscles is quite common. Bay Essential Oil is a great antiseptic for healing wounds by inhibiting bacterial growth and relieving pain. This can be used topically by diluting it with a carrier oil. Before doing so, check with a certified aromatherapist to rule out safety concerns.
Yes, Crossfit is for the tough. Greg Glassman once said “Hiding from your weaknesses is a recipe for incapacity and error.” Let Simply Earth’s essential oils and blends get you to your goal body.
