Nourish and Exfoliate Skin with this DIY Body Scrub

There are a lot of great body scrubs out there – but most of them cost an arm and a leg! Make this DIY body scrub at home using only a few ingredients and give your skin the spa day it needs! Sweet almond oil works great in this as it moisturizes skin without clogging pores.

I like to keep my scrub near the kitchen sink to moisturize and exfoliate my hands after doing dishes or other chores in the kitchen. The relief it gives me for my dry skin is amazing! Use this scrub after washing your hands, in the shower, or after doing chores for a quick skin refresh.

White Sugar

White sugar is needed for the consistency of this body scrub. The grit in the sugar allows the scrub to get dirt out of hard to reach places!

Sweet Almond Oil

Sweet almond oil is needed to get the base of the scrub. It also helps dilute the essential oils so it is safe to apply to your skin.

10-15 Drops of Any Essential Oil

You can also add 10-15 drops of your favorite essential oil! For this recipe, I used 5 drops lavender, 5 drops geranium, and 5 drops sandalwood essential oils. You can make any combination you want! Just make sure to check the safety of the oils before adding them to the recipe.

Depending on which oils are chosen to be put in this recipe, it can be safe for children 10+.

Use caution when picking your oils to add if you are going to use this around dogs and cats as some essential oils can cause irritation. For more information on using essential oils with pets, check out this blog post.

Never ingest any essential oil, even if it’s generally regarded as safe. For more information on why we don’t ingest essential oils, check out this blog post
