What I Love About This Tassel Diffuser

The whole Simply Earth team LOVES how this macrame tassel diffuser turned out. It looks so stylish and really makes a perfect decoration piece at home or as a customized, handmade gift.

What’s in This Macrame Essential Oil Diffuser

Wooden Beads

Wood is a convenient alternative to electric diffusers. The essential oils seep into the wood and their aroma is slowly and naturally diffused into the air over time.

Macrame Rope

These 100% cotton macrame ropes add a stylish element to your tassel diffuser. They look elegant and chic and create the perfect boho-style decor.

Comb or Brush

Use a comb or brush to comb through the macrame fringe and separate the rope more efficiently for a softer fringed finish.

Vanilla Woods Essential Oil Blend

Smells just like sweet vanilla, Vanilla Woods Essential Oil Blend is such an aromatic treat. Also, this blend calms and uplifts to help you turn that frown upside down!

Bay Essential Oil

Bay Essential Oil is a strong top note that provides uplifting benefits. This oil has a mildly floral, spicy, and strong medicinal scent which blends perfectly with the sweet warmth of the Vanilla Woods Blend.

Tassel Diffuser Recipe

How To Make A Macrame Essential Oil Diffuser

Ingredients

  • 1 ring bead

  • 1 small round bead

  • Macrame rope

  • Comb or brush*

  • 2 drops Vanilla Woods Essential Oil Blend

  • 1 drop Bay Essential Oil

Directions

  • Prepare and cut macrame rope into one 14-inch piece and four 7-inch pieces.
  • Fold your 14-inch piece of rope in half. Place the bend of the rope through the ring bead. Pull the ends of the string around the bead and through the bend of the rope. Pull taut. This is called a cow hitch knot.
  • Pull one ring bead through both ends of the 14-inch rope. This is the top part of your tassel diffuser. Tip: Tape the ends of the 14-inch rope to make pulling the rope through the bead easier.
  • Along the bottom of the ring, create 4 cow hitch knots with the 7-inch macrame rope pieces. See step 2 for cow hitch knot formation.
  • Use a comb or brush to completely fray the ends of the four bottom cow hitch knots. Trim bottom to make tassels even.
  • Use the ends of the 14-inch macrame rope to tie and hang at desired length.
  • To use as a diffuser, add essential oils to either wooden bead. Note: The essential oils that contain a natural pigment like our Vanilla Wood Blend can discolor the bead and rope.
