In the midst of winter, you’ll smell like a breath of sunshine and fresh air. Of course, you’ll also have a sunny disposition that even the people you’re with will notice and smell.

What I Love About This Happy Day Body Spray Recipe

I love how this body spray improves my mood. This is very timely especially during winter when the cold, dark days just make me want to lay in bed the whole day and mope. Now I feel energized and ready to get through my day with so much zest and joy!

What’s in This Essential Oil Body Spray Recipe?

Lava Essential Oil Blend

Lava Essential Oil Blend contains Grapefruit, Blood Orange, Ho Wood, and Sandalwood Essential Oils. The combination of citrus and woody aromas in this blend smells like a tropical escape even in the midst of winter. And like summer, this blend will make you feel invigorated and refreshed.

Happy Joy Essential Oil Blend

Infused with Geranium, Sweet Orange, Grapefruit, and Ylang Ylang Essential Oils, Happy Joy Essential Oil Blend provides a fresh and sunny scent that will brighten your mood and your day. This time, citrus and floral scents complement each other to form a wonderful aroma that’s perfect for a body spray.

Fractionated Coconut Oil

Since we used water to fill the bottle for this body spray recipe, and water and oils do not mix, we also added Fractionated Coconut Oil to dilute the essential oils and make it safe for your skin.

Happy Day Body Spray Recipe

Happy Day Body Spray

Time: 2 minutes
Est. Shelf Life: 6 weeks
Yield: 10 mL

Ingredients

  • 10 mL spray bottle

  • ½ tsp fractionated coconut oil

  • 1 drop Lava Essential Oil Blend

  • 1 drop Happy Joy Essential Oil Blend

  • 7 mL distilled water

Directions

  • Add fractionated coconut oil and essential oils to the bottle. Shake to mix.
  • Fill the rest of the bottle with water.
  • To use, shake and spray for an uplifting and energizing aroma to help support joy.

Notes

  • Tip: Heat your distilled water and dissolve 1/2 tsp of salt in your distilled water to help improve the shelf life of your perfume.
  • Oils and water don’t mix. The oils will float on top of the water. That means even though we shake the spray, it’s tough to get the oils to distribute throughout the water. We won’t be able to get a consistent amount of essential oils out of each spray. Sometimes there will be more and sometimes there will be less.
That’s why we add a little bit of fractionated coconut oil. We’re diluting the oils slightly to help make sure they won’t irritate the skin if more oils come out in a given spray.
