This recipe is easy to follow and requires only a few simple ingredients that you may already have on hand. So, say goodbye to those store-bought air fresheners and hello to fresher, more natural air in your home.

Commercial vs. Natural Air Freshener

When it comes to freshening up our homes or cars, we often turn to air fresheners. While commercial air fresheners may promise a strong, long-lasting scent, they can also be harsh and filled with toxins. On the other hand, natural air fresheners can provide a subtle and gentle scent without the added chemicals. Plus, they tend to be more cost-effective in the long run.

What’s in This Natural Air Freshener Recipe?

Simply Earth’s Natural Solubilizer

A natural solubilizer works to help essential oils mix with water and create a pleasant scent that can last for weeks. It’s also environmentally friendly – try and see how easy it can be to keep your home smelling fresh and inviting!

Fit Essential Oil Blend

Looking for a natural way to keep your home smelling fresh while working towards your fitness goals? Look no further than the Fit Essential Oil Blend! With a refreshing citrus and minty aroma, this gel air freshener recipe ingredient is the perfect addition to any healthy lifestyle.

Anise Star Essential Oil

Anise Star Essential Oil has a unique licorice-like scent that is refreshing and energizing. It will leave your space smelling amazing and promote awareness – perfect for keeping you alert and focused throughout the day.

Clove Essential Oil

Clove Essential Oil has a warm, spicy aroma that’s perfect for Fall. Couple that with its ability to help boost your mood and energy levels, and you’ve got a winning ingredient for any DIY air freshener.

Geograd ECT Preservative

Have you ever tried making your natural air freshener only to make it smell funky after just a few days? That’s where Geogard ECT Preservative comes in. This natural preservative can help extend the lifespan of your air freshener, keeping it smelling fresh and pleasant for weeks. Without it, your creation will only last a mere week before starting to turn.

Gelatin

One of the key ingredients in our recipe is gelatin, which creates a gel-like texture that helps to distribute the fragrance throughout your space. However, if you’re looking for a vegan-friendly alternative, you can switch out the gelatin for Agar Agar Powder, which works just as well.

Distilled Water

To create the gel, you’ll need to mix distilled water with gelatin as the base ingredient. We recommend distilled water because it’s free from any impurities or minerals that could ruin the gelatin’s texture.

Rubbing Alcohol

Rubbing alcohol preserves the gel and prevents bubbles from forming on top. Using rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle to combat these pesky bubbles is an easy and effective solution.

Mica Powder (or Food Coloring)

When making your natural air freshener recipe, don’t forget the importance of adding Mica Powder! This special ingredient will add a lovely sparkle to your air freshener and prevent it from becoming dull and grayish. You can also use the food coloring of your choice to add a pop of color to your freshener.

Essential Oil Substitution

Do you want a natural air freshener but don’t have the exact essential oils listed in the recipe? No worries; you can easily customize your own blend using whatever essential oils are available to you. Get creative and experiment with different scents that you enjoy. And if you’re feeling extra fancy, try adding some vanilla extract and herbs to freshen up your space naturally. Don’t let a lack of a couple of ingredients hold you back from enjoying a fresh and inviting home.
