DIY Grow & Flow Hair Mask Recipe

Life is not perfect but your hair can be. *flips hair*

So, what’s your secret hair product or routine? Some fancy shampoo or conditioner, a regular salon visit, or perhaps one of those popular keratin treatments? Whatever it may be, we hope you’re not putting yourself at risk by using those in-store products that are full of nasty chemicals. Keratin hair smoothing treatments, for example, raise the concentration of formaldehyde in the air to a level that could be potentially hazardous, as reported by the American Cancer Society.

Since it is hard to verify the reliability of the products available commercially, we believe it’s best and safest to make our very own recipe that is free of toxic chemicals and made with only natural ingredients.

Presenting… our very own Grow & Flow Hair Mask recipe with essential oils for hair growth. All the ingredients in this recipe work together to support hair growth and health.

What I Love About This Hair Mask With Essential Oils for Hair Growth

essential oils for hair growth, Grow & Flow Hair Mask

I have fine and thin hair and I love how this hair mask makes my hair voluminous like it has been taken care of by some expensive salon. I like to use this recipe throughout me hair while I work out. Then I wash it out when I’m ready to shower. That’s some level up self care.

What’s in This Grow & Flow Hair Mask Recipe

Castor Oil

Castor oil works as a carrier oil to dilute the essential oils in this recipe and make it safe to be used topically. But its benefits do not end there! Castor oil is also great for the hair. In fact, it has long been used to moisturize and improve the appearance of hair. Composed mainly of fatty acid ricinoleic acid, it locks in moisture and improves the health of hair follicles which promote hair growth and limit hair loss.

Beauty Within Essential Oil Blend

Simply Earth aromatherapists formulated Beauty Within Essential Oil Blend to combat fine lines and wrinkles, but this wonderful blend is also amazing for the hair. The blend includes Rosemary and Lavender Essential oils that are both known to help stimulate hair growth and keep your locks smooth and beautiful.

Palmarosa Essential Oil

To level up this hair mask recipe, we added Palmarosa Essential Oil. In haircare, Palmarosa Oil regulates sebum production in your scalp without drying your hair out This statement has not been evaluated by the FDA. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

In aromatherapy, the sharp, spicy, and floral aroma of this oil has both calming and uplifting effects. So as you leave the hair mask on your hair, you’ll also feel invigorated and soothed.

Honey

This all-natural ingredient is one of our favorites in our DIYs! Honey has emollient properties that lock in moisture in your hair keeping it conditioned, shiny, and smooth. Honey’s antioxidant property, on the other hand, keeps your hair healthy and strong.

Egg

Eggs are undoubtedly wonderful for the hair! The egg’s fatty yolk is an excellent conditioner that adds shine especially to dry and brittle hair. Moreover, egg white is rich in protein that strengthens and volumizes your hair. Eggs also contain naturally occurring hair growth peptide1 that can stimulate healthy hair growth.

Tip: Different parts of the egg have different benefits. For people with dry brittle hair, just use the yolk. For those with oily hair, use the egg whites. For normal hair and combination hair, using the whole egg is best.

Things to Remember When Using This Hair Mask

Always dilute an essential oil when using it on the skin. This essential oil is unlikely to cause skin irritation when diluted properly. If the oil has been oxidized (left with the cap off for long periods of time) it is more likely to cause skin irritation. Check out this dilution chart for diluting this essential oil properly.
