1. Simply Earth Referral Codes

2. Essential Oil Hero Course
Subscribers kept coming back to this in their answers. Some new subscribers didn’t know that they would have free access to the course. They love it and have found it super helpful in learning how to use essential oils with confidence and clarity.

3. Ingredients
Each monthly Recipe Box comes with extra ingredients to use (along with the items in the Big Bonus Box). Some fun examples of extras we’ve included in the past are rose hydrosol, avocado oil, french green clay, and diffuser beads. Each month is something different!
Some common household ingredients (not included in the box) are occasionally required in a recipe. We don’t include items like baking soda, sugar, Epsom salt, or distilled water in our boxes.
The items we don’t include are always inexpensive and likely something you may already have at home.
4. Containers & Yield
Many of the recipes you make with the Essential Oil Recipe Box will need to be stored in an airtight container, like a jar. Our subscribers wanted to make sure you knew that you might want to have some of these on hand.
We include the yield of the recipe on the recipe card so you have an idea of what size jar you should use.
5. Double Boiler
Many of our recipes ask you to melt things in a double boiler. This is a safe and gentle way to melt natural ingredients for our recipes.
A double boiler is a pan that sits inside another pan of water to safely heat. Just like you would use if you were melting chocolate. You can buy inexpensive double boilers (the one we use in our recipe videos was about $7) or you can DIY it.
If you don’t have a double boiler, you can use a jar or glass measuring cup in a pan with 2 inches of water in it
6. Preservatives, Distilled Water, & Shelf Life
All our recipes are small batches and intended to be used quickly. Because of this, we don’t include preservatives in our Recipe Box.
Many of our recipes are made with only oil-based ingredients that do not require a preservative and will have a long shelf life.
Some of our recipes include water. We always list distilled water on our recipes because this will help lengthen the shelf life of your product. When using distilled water and clean containers, we find that our recipes usually last about six weeks.
Distilled water can be purchased at most grocery stores and is usually about $1/gallon. You can also make your own distilled water.
If you use tap water your shelf life will be closer to 3-7 days.
The estimated shelf life listed on our recipe cards is based on using distilled water in a clean container.

“I wish there was information on adding a preservative to recipes, even if it didn’t come WITH the preservatives. That’s something I know nothing about. If it’s in the Hero’s Course, I haven’t gotten there yet. But I’d love to see that added.” – Jennifer
Based on our subscribers’ comments on preservatives I’m happy to share that we’ll be adding a section to our Hero Course with information on preservatives in 2021!
7. Gifting or Skipping a Box
Subscribers wanted to make sure that you knew you could gift a box. This means you can choose to give your Recipe Box to a friend. Instead of the box being shipped to you, it’ll be shipped to a friend!
You can also skip a Recipe Box easily within your Simply Earth login account if you choose!
