What I Love About This Shower Spray Recipe

I was elated when I first tried the Breathe of Pine Shower Spray. It’s a multi-purpose essential oil spray that provides a calming aroma and can be used to clean surfaces. I love how versatile it is and that it calms me after a long day.

What’s in This Breath of Pine Shower Spray?

Distilled Water

While you technically can use any type of water in the recipe, we recommend using distilled water. That’s because it’s free of contaminants and minerals that can gunk up the spray nozzle and shorten the shelf life of the finished product.

Balsam Fir Essential Oil

Balsam Fir Essential Oil is the perfect way to give your shower a boost this season. Not only does it uplift and center the mind, but it also cleans and deodorizes the space. As an added bonus, if you’re feeling stuffed up, Balsam Fir Essential Oil supports respiration!

Geogard ECT Preservative

Geogard ECT Preservative helps inhibit the growth of bacteria and mold. So, if you’re looking for a way to extend the shelf life of your shower spray, be sure to add some Geogard ECT to the mix.

Natural Solubilizer

The Natural Solubilizer allows essential oils to mix evenly with the water. As a result, you get an intoxicating aromatherapy experience in every spray.

Things to Remember When Using This Recipe

Always dilute an essential oil when using it on the skin. This essential oil recipe is unlikely to cause skin irritation when diluted properly. If the oil has been oxidized (left with the cap off for long periods of time) it is more likely to cause skin irritation. Check out this dilution chart for diluting this essential oil properly.

Breath of Pine Shower Spray Recipe

Multipurpose Breath of Pine Shower Spray Recipe

Time: 3 minutes
Est. Shelf Life: ~6 weeks
Yield: 1oz

Ingredients

  • 1 oz spray bottle

  • 30 drops Balsam Fir Essential Oil

  • ~2 Tbsp distilled water

  • Optional Simply Earth Add-ons
  • ~4 drops Geogard ECT Preservative

  • ~120 drops of Natural Solubilizer

Directions

  • Add essential oils to the spray bottle and fill the rest of the way with distilled water.
  • To use, shake and spray on shower walls before showering. The steam from the shower will create a spa-like aromatherapy experience.

Notes

  • Tip: To help your essential oils mix with water, place the essential oils into a bowl and slowly add Simply Earth’s Natural Solubilizer to the oils, stirring constantly until the oils and solubilizer are completely blended. We found approximately 50 drops of Natural Solubilizer for this recipe is about right. Slowly add about 2 Tbsp of distilled water to the mixture in the bowl and stir until completely mixed.
  • Tip: You can preserve your shower spray using 4 drops of Simply Earth’s Geogard ECT preservative to allow your product to last up to 9 months.

Soothe Your Frazzled Nerves

From the first spritz, you’ll notice the refreshing smell of pine. After rinsing off, you’ll be left with a sense of calm that lingers long after you step out of the shower. Because it also cleans and deodorizes your shower as you use it, you can enjoy that feeling of peace every time you step into your bathroom. What do you love most in this recipe?
