What Are Bath Melts?
Bath melts are a delightful addition to your self-care routine, offering a unique bathing experience. Unlike bath bombs, which fizz and bubble upon contact with water, bath melts dissolve slowly and gently, releasing an infusion of aromatic and hydrating oils into your bath. These luxurious little treats moisturize your skin, leaving it soft, supple, and delicately scented. Perfectly crafted for those who cherish a calm and tranquil soak, bath melts transform your ordinary bath into a rich, spa-like indulgence.
What’s in This Bath Melt Recipe?
Fractionated Coconut Oil
Fractionated Coconut Oil is renowned for nourishing and hydrating the skin. Enriched with essential fatty acids and antioxidants, this lightweight oil penetrates deeply into the skin, ensuring long-lasting moisture without leaving a greasy residue.
Cocoa Butter
Cocoa Butter is celebrated for its rich moisturizing properties and delightful chocolate fragrance. Additionally, this natural fat, extracted from cocoa beans, is packed with emollients that create a protective barrier on the skin. This barrier helps seal moisture and ensure a velvety-smooth complexion.
Solid Coconut Oil
Solid Coconut Oil is rich in medium-chain fatty acids, which help to nourish and condition the skin, leaving it soft and hydrated. Additionally, Solid Coconut Oil ensures that the bath melts maintain their shape and texture, melting slowly in warm water to distribute its moisturizing benefits evenly throughout your bath.
Tranquility Essential Oil Blend
The Tranquility Essential Oil Blend is the perfect addition to our Chocolate Rose Bath Melt Recipe. Its delightful fragrance enhances the overall soothing experience. This blend boasts a fresh and fruity aroma that instantly calms the senses and promotes a sense of restfulness.
Rose Petals
Rose Petals aren’t just for visual appeal; they add a touch of elegance and luxury to your bath experience. These delicate petals float serenely on the water’s surface, creating a beautiful and relaxing environment. Beyond their aesthetic appeal, rose petals can enhance the overall sensory experience, making your bath feel like an indulgent, spa-like retreat.

½ Tbsp coconut oil (solid)
½ Tbsp cocoa butter
6 drops Tranquility Essential Oil Blend
½ Tbsp Rose petals, roughly torn
1 paper mold
Directions

tip from katie
- Cocoa butter is a hard, brittle butter that may be difficult to measure. You can melt the cocoa butter in its container using short intervals in the microwave and pour out your measurement, or you can use a small spoon to loosen the cocoa butter before measuring.
How to Store Your Bath Melts
Place your bath melts in the fridge to ensure they set properly. Given this recipe’s natural oils and butter, setting it at room temperature typically isn’t effective. Once your bath melts are set, you can either store them at room temperature or in the fridge, depending on the climate you live in. Warm temperatures can easily cause the melt to soften or liquefy during storage.
How to Use Your Bath Melts
- Run a warm bath.
- Place the bath melt into the hot bathwater and let it dissolve.
- Step into the bath and soak in the luxurious, moisturizing blend.
- Remember to use caution when entering and exiting the tub, as the added oils can make the tub slippery.
