  • Colored felt
  • Christmas tree template
  • Sticks
  • Small stand (wood or cork)

Gold Christmas Tree Cone Craft

This gold Christmas tree cone craft would make a lovely table centerpiece or mantel decoration! It is super easy and inexpensive to make but looks like a fancy adornment. You will need:

  • Paper cones (I found mine at the dollar store)
  • Paint
  • Spray adhesive
  • Imitation gold leaf

Begin by painting your cones. Let dry completely. Once dry, spray the cone with adhesive and then apply the gold leaf, gently pressing it into place. Allow to dry and then remove any excess leaf with a soft brush.

Air Dry Clay Ornaments

christmas crafts for adults

Make your own Christmas tree ornaments using air-dry clay. You can go for a traditional look by making shapes like Santa, reindeer, or gingerbread men. Or, you can get creative and make unique shapes that represent something special to you. You will need:

  • Air dry clay
  • Cookie cutters
  • Paint
  • Glitter (optional)

Start by rolling out the clay on a flat surface. Use cookie cutters to cut out desired shapes. Make a small hole at the top of each ornament using a straw. This will be used to thread ribbon or twine through later. Allow the clay to air dry overnight. Once dry, paint and decorate your ornaments as desired. Add a little glitter for extra sparkle! Thread a ribbon or twine through the hole at the top and hang it on your tree. For more detailed instructions on how to make the clay, check out this clay recipe.

  • Needle

Thread the needle with twine and start stringing the dried fruit slices onto the twine. Tie off each end. Make sure your garland is long enough for its use.

  • White candles
  • Decorations (ribbons, paint, etc)

Simply add some Christmas-themed decorations like ribbons, holly leaves, or snowflakes to the mason jar. Place a candle in the center and you’re done! Tip: Use a scented candle for a better experience.

Twig Ornaments

Here’s an ornament inspired by nature! It will test your creativity and makes a great activity to share with adults and kids alike. You will need:

Start by gluing the twigs together in the shape of a star, snowflake, or any other shape you’d like.

Once the glue has dried, use the embroidery thread to make different designs. Add some essential oils for added aroma.

Popsicle Stick Tree Ornament

This is a fun and easy craft that you can make to add some adornments to your Christmas decor at home or in the office. Your imagination is the limit here. You will need:

  • Popsicle sticks

  • Decorative items like buttons, beads, etc
  • String or twine

Cut the popsicle stick into five different sizes from small to large, so it forms a triangle when arranged. Next, glue the popsicle sticks together in a tree-like shape. • Tape
  • Scissors
  • Decorative items

First, cover or paint your milk carton. Then, cut out a door and windows from the construction paper and tape them onto the milk carton. Next, decorate the gingerbread house with whatever you like. You can use felt for the roof, pom poms for trees, etc. Be creative!

Owls are a popular bird to decorate with during the Christmas season. They’re also relatively easy to make with pinecones! You will need:

  • Pinecones
  • Felt paper

  • Essential oils
  • Acrylic paint (optional)

Start by painting the pinecones, if you wish to. Once they’re dry, cut out the various parts of the owl from the felt paper, like its eyes, eyebrows, wings, etc. Hot glue the felt cut-outs to the pinecones. Then, add some essential oils to the pinecones for aroma. Tip: use Simply Earth’s Gingerbread Essential Oil Blend to scent your craft.

Simply hot glue ornaments onto the cone, adding as many as you’d like. You can use all those spare ornaments you have around. You can even add a star to the top of the tree!

Christmas Coffee Cozie

  • Felt
  • Scissors
  • Needle & thread or hot glue gun
  • Ribbon

First, cut out a strip of felt that will wrap around the cup and glue the ends together. Add more felt cut-outs depending on your design (a Santa or a reindeer make for great decor!). Finally, add any embellishments you like!

Yarn-Wrapped Christmas Trees

This project is a good way to use up some of that extra yarn you have around. The trees look elegant and make great mantelpieces. You will need:

  • Styrofoam or cardboard cone (different sizes)
  • Colored yarn
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun
  • Tiny stars or embellishments

Wrap the cones in yarn in any way you want. You can go for a more rustic look by wrapping randomly, or you can wrap it in stripes or even a spiral pattern. Once happy with the yarn coverage, hot glue a star or other embellishments onto the tree.

Christmas Ornament Drink Stirrers

These are so much fun and really easy to make. Level up your average drink with a stylish and fun drink stirrer. You will need:

  • Plastic ornaments
  • Stir sticks or bamboo skewers
  • Hot glue gun
  • Ribbon

Start by hot gluing the ornament onto the stir stick. I tried to do a mix of the colors, but you could totally do all one color. Once all the ornaments are glued on, tie a ribbon around the top. These are great to use as drink stirrers or even as little forks for appetizers.

Fabric Christmas Coasters

Holidays call for gatherings. Add some Christmas flare to your table with these easy-to-make fabric coasters. You will need:

  • A few different coordinating fabrics (I used some Christmas-themed fat quarters)
  • Scissors
  • Sewing machine and thread

Cut your fabric into whatever shape you’d like your coaster to be. I just did a simple square. Now you’re ready to stitch around the edge of the coaster. I used a simple zigzag stitch, but you could do a straight stitch or even a decorative stitch. If you’re not comfortable sewing, you could also use fabric glue to attach the two pieces of fabric together.

Once you’ve stitched or glued your coaster together, trim any excess thread or fabric. And that’s it! You now have a beautiful, handmade Christmas coaster.

Care for the birds during winter by making these birdseed ornaments that double as Christmas decor. You will need:

Snow-dripped pinecones are charms to see, and they’re so easy to make. You will need:

Log Candle Holders

For a rustic decoration that doubles as a festive candle holder, try this easy DIY! You will need:

  • Logs (any size or type)
  • Drill
  • Candles

First, find some logs that are the right size for your candles. If you can’t find any logs, you can always buy them from a store. Once you have your logs, use a drill to make holes in the center of each log. The size of the hole should be slightly bigger than the diameter of your candles.

After you’ve made the holes, insert your candles into the holes and light them. You can put these candle holders anywhere in your yard or house to add a warm, cozy touch to any space.

Pallet Christmas Tree

If you’re looking for a more rustic look, try making your own pallet Christmas tree. You will need:

Lighted Bottles

Another great way to add some light to your outdoor Christmas decor is with lighted bottles. This is a super easy DIY that anyone can do! You will need:

  • Empty Bottles
  • String Lights

Insert the string lights into the inside of the clean and clear bottle (with no labels). Screw the bottle caps back on and voila! You’ve got yourself some beautiful lighted bottles that are perfect for outdoor Christmas decor.

Faux Christmas Gifts

Christmas gifts are must-have decorations for Christmas! But, stocking real ones can get expensive. So, why not make some faux ones just for decorations? You will need:
