Things to Remember When Using this Recipe
Always dilute an essential oil when using it on the skin. This essential oil recipe is unlikely to cause skin irritation when diluted properly. If this oil has been oxidized (left with the cap off for long periods of time) it is more likely to cause skin irritation. Check out this dilution chart for diluting this essential oil properly.

Ingredients
- FROM YOUR BOX
1 Tbsp perfumer’s alcohol
20 drops Focus Essential Oil Blend
5 drops Patchouli Essential Oil
5 drops Basil Essential Oil
- FROM YOUR HOME
1oz spray bottle 🛒
1 Tbsp distilled water
Directions
- Add the essential oils to the bottle and swirl to mix. Add the perfumer’s alcohol, pausing to swirl the bottle occasionally.
- Slowly fill the bottle the rest of the way with distilled water while swirling the bottle.
- Label the spray bottle.
Notes
- When you add water to this recipe, some essential oils will separate from the alcohol. If you prefer your room spray not to separate, omit the water.
- We recommend letting the essential oils sit in the alcohol for at least an hour to help the essential oils fully solubilize into the alcohol. If you add the water too soon, the oils will likely separate from the alcohol and float on the mixture. If the essential oils separate, shake the spray before you spray it.
- One benefit of working with perfumer’s alcohol is that it makes this recipe self-preserving. Even though the recipe contains water, the perfumer’s alcohol acts as a preservative.
