DIY Garden Spray Recipe Using Lemon Essential Oil

Commercial garden sprays are toxic for a reason- they are intended to kill bugs and other pests that harm our plants.

However, due to the toxicity load of commercial garden sprays, they can also harm even “non-target” plants, animals, people, and the environment. Exposure can be through inhalation, oral ingestion (through the food we eat), and skin absorption. And even though the pesticide industry tells us that we have no other effective alternatives, we believe otherwise. A natural garden spray like this recipe we’re about to share with you is just as effective.

We don’t need to risk our family and harm the environment just to have healthy plants or blooming flowers. This effective garden spray will get rid of your garden bugs while keeping everything and everyone safe and healthy- no compromise needed.

What I Love About This Garden Spray Recipe

Garden Spray

Aside from the fact that this garden spray is all-natural and safe to use, I totally love how this recipe smells! It smells so fresh- so fitting for a garden. Now I don’t get paranoid about what goes in my nose when I spray. I also don’t have to worry about being nauseated from the strong odor of chemical sprays.

What’s in This Essential Oil Garden Spray Recipe

Spray Bottle

To safely keep and effectively use this garden spray recipe, we used our amber spray bottles. Our spray bottles are PET plastic which means they are safe to use with essential oils. You will also love the fine mist this spray produces.

Lemongrass Essential Oil

Lemongrass Essential Oil is already a known natural insect repellent. It has several active compounds that make up its strong insecticidal property. In fact, a study1 confirmed its efficacy in deterring certain bugs and insects.

Water

We used water as a base for this recipe. Since water and essential oils are not soluble, we recommend you shake the recipe before every application.
